On October 27 in Mexico City, the Agency for Cooperation and Investment of Medellín and the Metropolitan Area, ACI Medellín, closed its cycle of business meetings Why Medellín? 2017. Thus, strengthening commercial relations with three key countries for investment in the city: United States, Spain and Mexico.
The Colombian Embassy in Mexico supported this meeting and more than 20 representatives of Mexican companies attended the event
This last meeting was both, an opportunity to promote Medellín as a destination for foreign investment and a space to strengthen those historical, cultural and industrial links that have existed between Colombia and Mexico.
Representatives from various economic sectors in Mexico were told about the incentives and tax advantages of Medellín, as well as the transformation process the city has been through. They understood that Medellín is not only one of the most innovative in the world, but also one of the most competitive in the region.
Additionally, two meetings were held with members of the Network of people from Antioquia living abroad Sos Paisa, in Guadalajara and Mexico City. These meetings were attended by more than 40 residents in these cities.
“Mexico is a country with a large budget destined for international investment. Therefore, it is essential for Medellín to be in the minds of mexican entrepreneurs, o they recognize our strengths, characteristics and investment niches. Our goal is to bring investors to the city, thus generating employment and innovating the local industry,” said Sergio Escobar, Director of ACI Medellín.
