Date: October 7 and 8, 2026
Description: Medellín will once again host Smart Capital on October 7 and 8, six years after its last edition. The event, organized by the District Administration, Ruta N, and the Medellín Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with ANDI del Futuro, Starter, and the ACI, will bring together national and international investors and leaders to analyze the new landscape of venture capital and foster connections among funds, companies, and financing and investment opportunities in Latin America. Its return comes at a strategic moment for the ecosystem, which has seen $216 million invested in the city’s startups so far in 2026.
The agenda will address topics such as changes in the venture capital market, new scenarios for venture capital, liquidity alternatives, and the role of public-private co-investment, among others.
The event will bring together investor families, corporate representatives, and representatives from development banks and the public sector. It will also feature a networking session between 20 investment funds and 35 selected startups, based on their investment theses, stage of development, and growth opportunities. Confirmed speakers include representatives from LAVCA, SoftBank, Bancóldex, Capria Ventures, L40, Confrapar, Alaya Capital, Fondo de Fondos México, CORFO, and Trefilia FO, among others.
Smart Capital is part of Medellín Venture Capital, the strategy led by Ruta N to mobilize smart capital and connect it with the city’s technology-based businesses. With this event, the city demonstrates that it is a hub for investment and smart capital in Latin America.
