With more than 200 side events across the country and a main program that will bring together global leaders, governments, businesses, and civil society organizations, Medellín presents the schedule for Climate Week Biodiversity 2026, the first event of its kind to be held in the city and in Latin America.

The program will run from September 28 to October 1, featuring more than 60 panel discussions on biodiversity, cities, energy, finance, and the circular economy.

The main program will take place from September 28 to October 1 at the Botanical Garden, Parque Explora, Ruta N, and other venues. Over the course of these four days, global leaders, academics, experts, and representatives from the private sector will address topics such as nature, water, and AFOLU (Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use); the circular economy; climate and nature finance; sustainable cities; carbon markets; and the energy transition.

The summit will bring together leaders, governments, businesses, academia, and civil society for the first Climate Week to be held in Medellín and Latin America.

One of the key events will be the Summit of Mayors and Local and Subnational Governments, led by the Mayor’s Office of Medellín in collaboration with international organizations such as ICLEI, C40 Cities, and CAF. The summit will bring together leaders and representatives from Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, El Salvador, Ghana, and Singapore, as well as Colombian cities and municipalities such as Bogotá, Barranquilla, and Providencia. Participants will share models of territorial management, nature-based solutions, and strategies for aligning global environmental goals with local social and economic development.

In addition to the sessions in the capital of Antioquia, Climate Week Biodiversity 2026 will expand its reach to different regions through more than 240 activities that will take place through October 10. The agenda will include initiatives from universities, companies, collectives, and civil society organizations, which will offer perspectives on sustainability and climate action.

The arrival of Climate Week Biodiversity 2026 in Medellín marks a milestone for Latin America, positioning the city on par with historic host cities such as New York, London, and San Francisco. As an international platform for climate action, the event establishes the region as a hub for connecting local knowledge with the global environmental agenda and promoting sustainable solutions for the collective well-being.
