The National Government, through the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, worked with the National Network of Investment Promotion Agencies (Red Invest) to develop a roadmap aimed at accelerating strategic investments in the regions, overcoming barriers, and ensuring that more projects translate into businesses, jobs, and opportunities for communities.
The meeting was led by the Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, Mauricio Gómez Amín, who emphasized that attracting regional investment is essential to the growth agenda of the “Patria Milagro” and to showing the world that Colombia is open for business and investment.
During the event, the regional agencies presented opportunities in various sectors and territories with high potential for realization, as well as the obstacles that require support from the Ministry, ProColombia, or other national government entities.
The goal is to establish concrete action plans, assign responsibilities, and conduct follow-up to prevent bureaucratic red tape or a lack of coordination from delaying investments capable of generating jobs and positively transforming the lives of thousands of Colombians.
Investment That Drives Regional Growth
Red Invest brings together 18 regional investment promotion agencies. In 2025, these agencies reported USD 1,385 million in realized investment, corresponding to 170 projects and 34,088 jobs created in the regions.

In addition, the Network has a portfolio of 1,700 investment opportunities currently under management. From this pool, 26 strategic projects have been prioritized that require support from the national government to be implemented; these projects would represent an estimated investment of USD 10,000 million for the country.
These figures demonstrate the regions’ potential to attract foreign capital and generate new opportunities for companies to establish themselves, expand their operations, or reinvest in Colombia, thereby strengthening local economies.
Among the projects presented are initiatives in tourism infrastructure, technology, artificial intelligence, industry, agribusiness, renewable energy, connectivity, and business expansion.
A Roadmap to Accelerate Projects
As part of the agenda, the Ministry proposed establishing a permanent working group with ProColombia and Red Invest and prioritizing between 10 and 15 strategic projects.
Each project will have a support roadmap that identifies existing barriers, the entities responsible for addressing them, and the timelines for moving forward.
Tools such as the Single Investment Window (VUI) and the System for Identifying Obstacles to Investment will be essential in this process, as they streamline procedures, improve monitoring, and promptly detect difficulties that could affect the arrival or expansion of investments.
The agenda also includes strengthening support for foreign companies already operating in Colombia, facilitating their expansion and reinvestment processes.
Growth with a Human Touch
“Colombia is open to business and investment that generates jobs and well-being. Our task is to accelerate the opportunities that exist today in the regions, overcome barriers, and build bridges with the relevant agencies. Every project that moves forward means growing companies, new jobs, and more opportunities for families. That is the growth with a human touch that the government of President Abelardo De La Espriella is promoting and that brings us closer to the ‘Patria Milagro’,” stated Mauricio Gómez Amín, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism.
Through this coordination, the national government is strengthening an investment strategy that builds on the capabilities of each region, connects their opportunities with domestic and international investors, and accelerates projects capable of generating growth, employment, and well-being for Colombians.
